Meet The Doctors

 

  • Dr. Hisako Seignemartin, better known as “Dr. Sako,” is excited to be the new, co-owner of Children’s Dental Associates of Hamden. Board certified in pediatric dentistry, Dr. Sako graduated from the University of Minnesota with highest honors and continued to the University of Southern California for her dental education. She was recognized for her time and dedication in treating patients and received the Woman Student of the Class Award presented by the Special Patients Clinic of USC.

    While pursuing additional training in Hawaii for Advanced Education in General Dentistry through Lutheran Medical Center, she discovered her passion for treating children. She promotes the importance of being proactive with their oral health starting early in their lives. With a wide variety of patient experience and different sedation methods including in-office sedation, nitrous oxide sedation, and general anesthesia in hospital settings, her emphasis is providing a comfortable, personal experience and developing positive attitude towards optimal dental health.

    Dr. Sako has been in the Northeast region for over two years and appreciates the four seasons. With her husband, Joel and their son, Vincent, they enjoy taking their pug to the dog park, traveling to different cities and countries, attending cultural events, and taking part in outdoor activities.

    Dr. Sako enjoys volunteering on mission trips and playing the cello, as part of the church orchestra. She looks forward to meeting all the children from the community and developing lasting relationships.

  • Dr. Paul Chen is a pediatric dentist who is passionate about helping children have positive dental experiences and healthy smiles for a lifetime. He enthusiastically embraces his profession because working with children provides him the greatest joy in his career. His goal is to form lifelong relationships with patients based on trust, kindness, and compassion for their individual needs. Dr. Chen strives to be a positive influence in your children's lives with the hopes of empowering them to take pride in their smiles and their oral health.

    With a doctoral of dental surgery degree from NYU College of Dentistry with honors in Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Chen went on to complete a two year residency with a concentration in Pediatric Dentistry in Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. He followed that up with a two year Pediatric Dental Specialty Program from Maimonides Medical Center.

    Dr. Chen has spent the past seven years practicing pediatric dentistry in the states of New York and Connecticut. He is also the recipient of the American Academy Pediatric Dentistry Spring Resident Recognition award* (published in Pediatric Dentistry Today magazine in July 2014).

    Dr. Chen has participated in several dental and medical outreach programs in the rural and impoverished regions of the Dominican Republic. He was the director of the Crimson Kings Children Drum Corp and Marching Band in Manhattan, NY, and also a member of Xtreme NY USA Dragon Boat Crew.
